City of California, Missouri

The City of California requires that all dogs that reside within the City Limits of California, to have a dog tag. Dog tags are due on July 1st of each year. To obtain a dog tag you will need to bring proof of rabies vaccine and $7.00 to the City Collector’s Office. Every dog when out on any street, alley, or any other public place in the City of California shall be attached to a leash; dogs are not permitted to run loose in the City. Pit Bulls, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier and American Staffordshire Terrier are not allowed within the City Limits of California, Missouri.
