The California Police Department is compromised of six full-time officers and five
reserve officers, whos mission is to deliver police services to our community
24 hours a day, 7 days per week. We are the only Police Department in Moniteau
County that operates 24 hours, 7 days a week.
These officers respond to and handle everything from parking violations to crimes
in progress. Due to being a smaller department, these officers handle all traffic and
investigation aspects that come along.
In addition to handling calls-for-service, patrol officers also focus on preventive
patrol, such as speed enforcement and suspicious activities or persons.
All full-time officers work an 8 hour shift, which varies between all officers except
the Chief of Police, which works 8-4 p.m., Monday - Friday. This allows for more
officers to be on at one time.
